Interior Architecture and Design for architects and residential developers
BLOKK is a specialist interior architecture partner for high-end residential and mixed-use projects, from concept stage to completion.
Interior architecture & design
For architects & residential developers.
The best buildings, the ones that hold their value and people aspire to live in, are the ones where the architecture and the interior have been carefully considered from the start.
By partnering with you from the very beginning, we can contribute across both interior architecture and design, not just fit out.

Who we work with
We partner with architectural practices and residential developers in the Lake District and across the UK on high-end projects where the interior needs to do the real work, not just look good in the sales brochure.
Our clients are typically practices and developers who:
Are working on high-specification residential or mixed-use schemes
Want an interior architecture and design partner with a strong point of view, capable of contributing meaningfully to decisions about space, flow, lighting and materials
Understand that the quality of the interior directly affects the value of the development
What we bring to the partnership
Our background in hospitality - restaurants, bars and hotels where commercial pressures are real, operational detail matters and the margin for error is small - gives us a practical understanding of how spaces get used that most residential interior designers don’t have.
We think about how people move through a space. How it feels at different times of the day. How materials age. How the details, the ones nobody consciously notices, shape the experience.
That thinking translates directly into high-end residential work. The standard is the same. The rigour is the same.
“Engaging an interior designer at the outset creates the opportunity to develop the scheme intentionally, rather than retrospectively. The result is not a layered or retrofitted interior, but a coherent and resolved design fully embedded within the architecture.''

Recent work
The OMAZE House, Lake District
We recently completed the interior architecture and design for a nationally recognised prize home; a four bedroom Passivhaus on a six-acre lakeside plot designed for both private use and exclusive hire.
The brief called for the highest specification throughout, a high-end ski chalet aesthetic that was also genuinely liveable, in a setting that demanded a design response as considered as the architecture around it.
The project demanded close collaboration across the full design and build team, precise coordination and a level of craft that had to hold up under significant public scrutiny.
Our design perspective
Our work is shaped by over 40 years combined experience across the UK, Norway and the Netherlands. That cross-European background isn’t just a style reference, it’s a way of thinking about what makes a space genuinely work.
Norwegian design is deeply rooted in nature, embracing koselig or Kos - a warmth and conviviality that has nothing to do with clutter and everything to do with care. Dutch design brings gezelligheid, cosiness and atmosphere, alongside minimalist functionality, sustainable materials and a muted colour palette. The Lake District keeps it grounded.
We work with local suppliers and makers wherever possible. Sourcing is part of the design, not an afterthought.
How we work
The earlier we get involved, the more useful we are and the better the outcome for your project.
Every engagement starts with a Design DNA session; a structured working conversation where we get under the skin of the project. What it needs to be, who it’s for, what the interior needs to say and how it needs to perform. From there, every decision has a foundation.
We’re used to operating as part of a wider professional team, alongside architects, structural engineers, contractors and project managers, and understand what good collaboration on a complex project actually requires.

Let’s talk about your project
We’re not looking to work with everyone. We’re looking to work with the right practices and developers on projects where considered interior architecture and design makes a genuine difference to the outcome.
If that sounds like the kind of project you’re working on, we’d like to hear about it.
